Unpoison yourself
I’ve been there!
I’ve experienced the mainstream medical industry merry-go-round.
The pain is not just physical. It might start that way, but it moves beyond that.
With all the prescription drugs, the side effects, the medical intervention, and the lack of healing, it soon becomes an emotional and mental battle when constantly you are not being heard.
If you’re struggling to find answers, and you’re looking for natural solutions, I provide more details about my story and lessons learned in my e-book Unpoisoned.
Here are some tips to get you started:
Educate yourself: Learn about natural health practices, alternative therapies, and complementary medicine. Understanding the principles and evidence behind these approaches is crucial.
Lifestyle changes: Start with lifestyle changes that promote natural health. This includes a balanced diet, regular exercise, managing stress, and prioritising sleep.
Nutrition: Consider incorporating more whole, unprocessed foods into your diet. Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and healthy fats.
Herbal medicine: Research herbal remedies for common ailments. Keep in mind that herbs can be potent, so it's important to consult with an herbalist or healthcare professional who specializes in herbal medicine.
Mind-body practices: Explore mind-body practices such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. These can help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and enhance overall well-being.
Seek a second opinion: If you're dealing with a serious medical condition, it's essential to get a second opinion from a healthcare provider who specializes in that condition. Natural treatments can sometimes be complementary to mainstream medicine.
Community and support: Join natural health or holistic health communities to learn from others who have similar interests and experiences. Sharing experiences and knowledge can be valuable.
Safety first: Be cautious about unproven or potentially harmful remedies. Not all "natural" treatments are safe or effective, and some can interact with medications. Always research and consult with professionals.
Patience and persistence: Natural health approaches can take time to show results. Be patient and persistent in your efforts, and don't be discouraged if you don't see immediate changes.
Consult with a healthcare professional: Before making any major changes to your healthcare routine, consult with a qualified healthcare provider. They can provide guidance, assess your individual health needs, and help you make informed decisions. My story is one of not being able to find answers from the mainstream medical industry, and the industry’s profit-driven motives have a lot to answer for. But still, consider medical advice and learn to sort through the information to find the right fit for you.
Keep a Symptom Journal: Maintain a journal where you record any unusual or persistent symptoms, including when they started, their frequency, and any factors that may exacerbate or alleviate them. This can help you track patterns and provide useful information to healthcare professionals if needed. This paragraph and the listen to your body paragraph should be combined as they are very similar.
Trust your instincts: Trust your intuition. If you feel that something is not right or that a symptom is significant, take it seriously. Your intuition can be a valuable tool in healthcare.
Know your family history: Understanding your family's health history can provide insights into potential genetic predispositions or conditions to watch for. Share this information with your healthcare provider.
Finally, remember, it’s not all in your head.
Tears.
Grief.
Disappointment in being let down by the mainstream medical system.
I’ve experienced it myself. So have a lot of my clients.
You know your body better than anyone.
You are not imagining it.
You are not going crazy.
When I was battling my own health issues, it was amazing how good it felt when I met someone - in my case a naturopath - who listened, and simply took the time to understand.
Trusting yourself when it comes to discerning health symptoms is an important skill that can help you take proactive steps for your well-being while avoiding unnecessary anxiety. Outside expertise is good, but if you don’t trust yourself, you won’t be your best advocate.
Overall, your healthcare journey should be based on your specific health needs, in consultation with knowledgeable professionals who can guide you on your path to natural health.
